Our Cancellation Policy

Your Personal SLP, LLC’s goal is to make every appointment timely, efficient, enjoyable, and stress free. We will make every effort to meet your needs and we aim to provide quality, compassionate services. Our SLP is available to help reschedule your appointments in when unforeseen or emergency circumstances arise. Please review our policies to become acquainted with our cancellation policy and expectations for when these situations arise.

1. You should notify Your Personal SLP, LLC of all appointment cancellations (for evaluations, therapy, training, meetings) 24-hours in advance. Please notify your SLP via text, email and/or phone. We always refer to the time-stamps indicated on communication. After notice is given, the SLP will then arrange a makeup session (at no charge) within the same month (during business hours) that fit both the SLP and client’s schedule. Or you may receive a refund if requested.

2. Your Personal SLP, LLC offers a ‘Forgiveness’ Policy and will excuse 1 cancellation of less than 24-hour notice for therapy sessions, educational meetings, or training once every 6 consecutive months (i.e., January through June, July – December).  For cancellations that meet this guideline, you will receive a makeup session (at no charge) within the same month (during business hours) that fit both the SLP and client’s schedule.  No refunds will be issued.

**We apologize but we are not able to offer this ‘forgiveness’ policy’ for diagnostic services (evaluations) due to the length of the evaluation appointments and cost associated with them. (Please see policy #5 for specific details regarding evaluations.)

3. If you are late for an appointment, your appointment time will still end at the originally scheduled time unless accommodations can be made easily by the SLP to extend your session, without conflicting with another client’s appointment or the SLP’s schedule.  (We will make every effort to do this; however, if this is not possible, you will not be issued a makeup, refund, or credit toward future services for lost time.)

4. If you are experiencing technical difficulties at the start of your speech therapy session, please reach out to Your Personal SLP, LLC for assistance immediately (within a few minutes) via phone, text, and/or email. The SLP will also attempt to connect with you and if no contact is made despite several attempts, you will be responsible for the full cost of the session, as the SLP will consider it a ‘No Show’ (and policy #8 will apply).

If contact has been made and there are internet issues that are unresolved on either the SLP’s or the client’s side (resulting in a missed or lost time), Your Personal SLP, LLC will work with you to arrange a makeup session (at no charge) within the same month (during business hours) that fit the SLP’s and client’s schedule.

5. Late cancellations (less than 24-hour notice) or ‘No Shows’ or ‘no notice’ for diagnostic services (evaluations) will result in the following charges:

–Mini-Evaluation – Articulation-Only – $100, if rescheduled within 4-months. If not, you will forfeit the entire cost of the appointment.

–Mini-Evaluation – Social Skills-Only – $100, if rescheduled within 4-months. If not, you will forfeit the entire cost of the appointment.

–Mini-Evaluation – Language-Only — $150, if rescheduled within 4-months. If not, you will forfeit the entire cost of the appointment.

–Full Evaluation – Articulation Only – $120, if rescheduled within 4-months. If not, you will forfeit the entire cost of the appointment.

–Full Evaluation – Social Skills Only – $120, if rescheduled within 4-months. If not, you will forfeit the entire cost of the appointment.

–Full Evaluation – Language Only – $150, if rescheduled within 4-months. If not, you will forfeit the entire cost of the appointment.

–Comprehensive Evaluation – $200, if rescheduled within 4-months. If not, you will forfeit the entire cost of the appointment.

6. Cancellations for therapy sessions or training with less than 24-hour notice, but at least 12-hours notice, will be charged at 50% of their therapy session fee. (You will be issued a credit toward future services or a refund for 50% of the charge within a month)

7. Cancellations for therapy sessions or training with less than 12-hours notice will be charged at 100%. (You will not be issued a refund or credit toward future services.)

8. If you ‘do not show,’ ‘forget,’ or provide ‘no notice’ to your SLP for your therapy session, you will be charged at 100%. (You will not be issued a refund or credit toward future services.)

9. Educational meetings of any kind that are cancelled by school staff or other professionals will be no charge, as their schedules are beyond your control.

If the meeting was cancelled by you with less than 24-hour notice, (but with at least 12-hours notice) you will be charged at 50% of the fee. (You will be issued a credit toward future services or a refund for 50% of the charge within a month).   If the meeting was cancelled with less than 12-hour notice, then you will be charged at 100%. (You will not be issued a refund or credit toward future services.)

10. If the assigned SLP is unexpectedly unavailable for a scheduled appointment, Your Personal SLP, LLC has the option of offering the client, the services of another qualified, ASHA-certified and state-licensed SLP during the scheduled appointment time. Your Personal SLP, LLC will request permission from you prior to any staff change.

11.  If the SLP must cancel a scheduled session, Your Personal SLP, LLC will provide notification of at least 24-hours notice via e-mail, text, and/or phone call. We always refer to time-stamps indicated on communications.

In the unlikely event that the SLP starts late or needs to leave early for an emergency, you will receive a makeup session or extended session (at no charge) for the the amount of time lost.

In the unlikely event that the SLP gives less than 24-hours of notice, you will receive a makeup session for the missed session (at no charge)  (during business hours) that agrees with the SLP and client’s schedule, as well as one, $15-credit toward future services as a sincere apology for our last-minute cancellation.

In the unlikely event that the SLP gives less than 12-hours of notice, you will receive a makeup session for the missed session (at no charge)  (during business hours) that agrees with the SLP and client’s schedule, as well as one, $25-credit toward future services as a sincere apology for our last-minute cancellation.
